Eliama Gold Clinical Research
Study Results on MS and EVOO
Clinical Trial Results
The clinical study results revealed positive effects of Eliama Daily Value Gold on cognitive functions, with participants showing marked improvement in executive functions, visual memory, and processing speed, as measured by tools like the FAB, BVMT, and SDMT. These findings underscore the beneficial impact of high-phenolic EVOO on mental health and cognition in MS patients.
We would like to express our gratitude to the researchers for selecting Eliama Daily Value Gold for their study, particularly Prof. Dr. Magda Tsolaki from Aristotle University of Thessaloniki and Prof. Dr. Greta Wozniak from the University of Cyprus. Our sincere thanks also go to the patients who participated in the pilot study, whose involvement made this research possible.

EVOO and Cognitive Health in MS
Cognitive and mental health impairments are significant clinical symptoms in patients with Multiple Sclerosis (MS), impacting all forms and stages of the disease. These impairments vary in severity and can significantly affect the quality of life for MS patients. Effective therapeutic management targeting cognitive function can help reduce disability and improve overall well-being.
Eliama Daily Value Gold was the first high-phenolic extra virgin olive oil (EVOO) from Crete to be involved in clinical research aimed at improving cognition and mental health in MS patients. The study focused on individuals with Primary Progressive MS (PPMS) and Secondary Progressive MS (SPMS) who were not receiving specific MS treatments due to previous failures.

HEALTH BENEFITS
OF PHENOLIC EXTRA VIRGIN OLIVE OIL
EVOO is renowned for its health benefits, particularly in the Mediterranean diet. Rich in phenolic compounds such as Oleocanthal, EVOO has been shown to offer significant therapeutic advantages. The health claims associated with olive oil polyphenols, as outlined in EU Regulation (EU) No 432/2012, highlight their ability to protect blood lipids from oxidative stress.
Polyphenols in EVOO, including hydroxytyrosol, oleocanthal, and oleuropein, are known for their powerful antioxidant and anti-inflammatory properties. In clinical trials, the intervention group consuming high-phenolic EVOO like Eliama Gold demonstrated statistically significant improvements in neuropsychological assessments, including executive functions, visual memory, and processing speed.
